These wells will bring water to an entire community year-round!

Almost all wells in the mountain regions in the Quang Ngai province are hand dug wells. They are easily polluted, especially during the monsoon floods. The biggest hardship, however, is that the wells dry up during the summer months and women are then required to take their shoulder pole and two buckets and walk, sometimes miles, to the nearest mountain where they scoop up water from a stream. Then they walk miles back to their homes.

New wells mean a year-round source of water within minutes of their homes. They are freed from the hard labor of hauling water from the mountains and also have more time for other important work at home.
